We are looking to hire a Journals Publishing Manager to join the Food, Earth & Environmental Sciences team. You will be independently responsible for the editorial management, strategic development, and financial performance of a portfolio of proprietary and society-owned research journals in the portfolio. You will work collaboratively within a global subject team comprising editorial, production, marketing, technology, and finance colleagues. You will support the Publisher in developing new sources of revenue, piloting new workflows, and strategically growing the portfolio in line with business objectives.

- Support academic editors and society partners and ensure that the high quality of content is maintained.
- Ensure that our journals deliver an excellent service to authors.
- Ensure Wiley meets all contractual commitments, profitability is improved, and an excellent reputation within the relevant subject communities is maintained.
- Protect revenues and maintain/improve title profitability.
- Contribute towards team and company targets for growing revenue and profit.
- Enhance Wiley’s reputation within the relevant subject communities and to ensure that our products are focused on author needs.
- Provide best-in-class service to our society partners and ensure all contractual commitments are met.
- Provide market insight and sound advice to ensure the journals remain competitive and financially sustainable.
- Protect and grow revenues and maintain/improve title profitability in order to ensure the long-term financial health of the society’s publishing program.
- Maintain and enhance Wiley’s reputation with our partners and within the relevant subject communities.
- Ensure effective journal management and maximize opportunities for innovation and franchise development.
- Enable effective relationship management by each individual department, and to ensure proper editorial management and fulfilment of contractual obligations.
- Develop and grow the life science journals program in line with Wiley’s strategic objectives.
- Maximize opportunities for innovation and franchise development.
- Education to degree level or equivalent
- Experience leading and facilitating editor and editorial board meetings, including sensitive meetings and conference attendance
- Understanding of the common financial models, to quickly assess impact of specific income or expenditure
- Self-motivation, using own initiative to develop solutions decisions and draft journal budgets
- Experience in Account Management, working with cross-functional groups and communicating with various internal teams
- Strong time management, data analytics, and presentation skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
