InternshipFull Job DescriptionWe are seeking individuals who have a passion for learning more about our Editorial Department within the publishing industry.
Applications will be accepted for Summer 2021 until March 15, 2021.
BIPOC Editorial Training Program participants will have the opportunity to be part of a unique, fully remote, stipend paid training program designed to provide a broad overview of the day-to-day work of an acquisitions editor. Broken down into three parts, the training program combines key editorial skills with valuable hands-on experience, guiding trainees through the editorial process while also giving them the opportunity to add a live project to their resume.
Program runs from May 17 – July 23, 2021. The 10 week program includes: four weeks in a Sandbox overview of all things editorial, three weeks in live developmental edits, three weeks in production/content delivery intensive rotation.

Ideal candidates will:
- Be available to participate remotely 15-20 hours per week. (Five scheduled online hours on Monday and Friday mornings, and 10-15 flexible offline hours).
- Previous publishing experience is not required. The ideal candidate will instead have demonstrable project management and creative skills gained from previous employment, community engagement, and general life experience.
- Love of reading and strong reading comprehension.
- Exhibiting initiative and leadership, with a strong desire to continually grow in the book business.
- Multitaskers who are detail-oriented, organized, and can keep short- and long-term schedules while following through on deadlines.
